UPTET Exam 2026: Complete Exam Pattern, Syllabus & Preparation Strategy

The UPTET (Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test) 2026 is a crucial examination for candidates aspiring to become teachers in primary (Classes I–V) and upper primary (Classes VI–VIII) schools in Uttar Pradesh. Conducted by the state government, it serves as a minimum eligibility criterion for teaching jobs. UPTET consists of two papers:

  • Syllabus Overview

The syllabus is based on NCERT curriculum from Classes I to VIII.

  • Child Development & Pedagogy: Learning theories, Piaget, Vygotsky, inclusive education, teaching methods
  • Language I & II: Grammar, comprehension, pedagogy of language development
  • Mathematics: Number system, algebra, geometry, pedagogy of math
  • Environmental Studies (Paper I): Family, food, shelter, environment, teaching methods
  • Science (Paper II): Physics, Chemistry, Biology basics
  • Social Studies (Paper II): History, Geography, Civics
